The instrument was recorded in stereo using 3 mic positions: close, mid and far. The same room as Drum Circle, huge sound and very little reverb.

Add any effect you want, mix the microphones to get the exact sound you're after, increase randomness between players, adjust decay...

The decay parameter enables you to get rid of the room reverb completely and just get the percussive sound isolated.
