What will I learn?
This Course shows you how to put Design knowledge into practice through real world projects. You ll be doing professional Style Frames and Storyboards in no time. At the end of this course you will have learned the fundamentals of design and how it applies to real projects.

Design Bootcamp vs. Illustration For Motion
Here's what some alumni have to say about their experience in Design Bootcamp vs. Illustration For Motion.

"I think of it this way: in Animation Bootcamp, pretty much everything is handed to you, and you make it move. In Design Bootcamp, you need to come up with your ideas, make moodboards, find matching assets and put things together. Illustration For Motion is even broader than that you can make literally anything happen, but that can also be challenging, since your possibilities are endless. Nothing is holding you back anymore, and you're the king of every frame."

"Aside from the content being very different, if you are already comfortable with Photoshop then it s just a matter of whether you d prefer to work on designing using assets like photos or if you want to improve in your actual drawing/illustration ability. When I took Design Bootcamp it was really my first serious foray into Photoshop, so there were a few times I felt overwhelmed. I feel much better about Illustration for Motion because I am accustomed to the software now."

If you are debating between which course to enroll in, there is no wrong choice! It just depends on which skills you want to strengthen.

What is the course format?
Our flexible course format makes it possible to be engaged from anywhere in the world on your own schedule. All of our courses are taught completely online through pre-recorded lesson videos, podcasts, and handouts. Students typically receive homework assignments twice per week, which have soft deadlines. All student work is critiqued by our highly trained Teaching Assistants. School of Motion TA's are professional motion designers with real life experience in the industry. They will be there for you throughout the entire session to critique your work in our proprietary critique portal. Our TA's are able to critique as many versions of your work as you would like to submit during the duration of the session; so you get the feedback you need to sharpen your skills. During the course you will be invited to a private Facebook group that contains all of the Teaching Assistants and students in your session. This is a great tool for connecting, asking or answering questions, sharing thoughts or insights, and winning cool contests!
